Changes include a new yard waste schedule, monthly bulk pickup appointments, and a new curbside electronics recycling program. Discover the beauty and science of butterflies in this hands-on butterfly pinning class designed for curious beginners and nature enthusiasts alike! This immersive workshop blends art, science, and conservation as participants explore the essential role butterflies play as pollinators and indicators of ecosystem health. Guided by an experienced instructor, attendees will be introduced to the fundamentals of butterfly anatomy and the basics of insect preservation- including pinning methods, wing positioning, and long-term display considerations. All materials are provided! Each participant will create their own professionally mounted butterfly specimen in a shadowbox to take home. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with both a beautiful display piece and a greater appreciation for the delicate balance of our natural world.
