Parks & Recreation Planning and Development
2023 J.W. Glover Memorial Park PARTF Project
In 2023, the Town of Nashville was awarded a Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) grant for facility additions to J.W. Glover Park. The statewide PARTF grant program awards matching grants to local governments to build parks, create recreational facilities, improve amenities, and increase accessibility to recreation opportunities.

Creating Outdoor Recreation Economies (CORE)
Through CORE, the Town of Nashville collaborated with N.C. Department of Commerce, Rural Economic Development Division staff members and local stakeholders through a strategic planning process to identify and develop outdoor recreation assets that present economic growth opportunities. Strategy development focused on leveraging outdoor recreation assets to increase tourism, encourage small business development, enhance quality of life for residents, plan for outdoor recreation asset and infrastructure development, and position communities to grow and attract outdoor gear manufacturing industries.
2021 Town of Nashville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Comprehensive Plan
The Town of Nashville developed a Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan in 2021 to focus on the future of parks and recreation in Nashville. This plan provides a system-wide analysis of recreation, which will create a strategy for park and facility improvement, maintenance, and development throughout the community now and into the future.
