Our mission in the Town of Nashville, is to advance the quality of life of our citizens. We do this by protecting values and encouraging orderly growth by way of planning, permitting, zoning, and enforcement regulations. We provide guidance on local, state, and federal regulations.
The Planning Staff provides guidance to the Town Council, Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, and the Municipal Services District (MSD) - Downtown Nashville Strong Advisory Board. Staff applies ordinances and plans that encourage growth and increase property values. Our goal is to provide great customer service and to educate the public on various planning topics.
The Planning Department’s goal is to also encourage projects that will provide growth. This requires teamwork with Nash County, City of Rocky Mount, and economic developers, and state and federal groups. Get more information regarding economic development.
