The mission of the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department is to advance the quality of life of our citizens by providing positive recreational experiences through programs and events. We continue to adapt to the needs of the community and work to preserve and enhance our green and open spaces.

Nashville Recreation Center

200 S. Boddie Street, Nashville, NC 27856

The Nashville Recreation Center opened in July 1, 2024. This facility features a large multi-purpose room to house a variety of programs for all ages.

This facility is available to be reserved by the public for events such as birthday parties, baby showers, meetings, etc. during times that the facility is not in use. The rental rules for the Nashville Recreation Center can be found below. For more information on programs and facility availability, please contact the Recreation Department at 252-459-9796.

Stoney Creek Enviromental Park

455 West Washington Street, Nashville, NC 27856

The park rests upon the banks of Stoney Creek. Designed to operate as a passive park; it offers citizens the chance to enjoy and interact with nature. The park is located on both sides of West Washington Street next to Historic Downtown Nashville with the main portion of the park located directly behind L&L Food Store and Taco Bell.

The park has several amenities. The amenities include a tennis court, exercise equipment, a picnic shelter, playground, and amphitheater.

If you wish to experience more natural settings, there is a trail that will lead you to Stoney Creek. There is a greenway that takes you through a wetland area over several board walks along the creek.

Parking is available at the playground site west of Washington Street and at the nature trail head at the end of Elm Street behind the Nash County Courthouse.

Stoney Creek Environmental Park

J.W. Glover Memorial Park & Complex

734 J.W. Glover Memorial Park Drive, Nashville, NC 27856

Glover Park has many amenities to meet various recreational needs. In the center of the park you will find the field house were the concession stand and restrooms are located. The field house is surrounded by 4 baseball fields, 2 of which have lighting. At the front of the park visible from the parking lot is the football field, home to the Nashville Hornets, and the multi-use/soccer fields. The park is surrounded by a 0.6 mile track that is used frequently by running and walking enthusiasts alike. To the left of the park behind the soccer fields there are 2 outdoor basketball courts. Glover Park also has a 9 hole disc golf course that follows the walking path's course and a playground.

Fields can be reserved; contact Nash County Department of Recreation and Senior Services at 252-462-2628 if you are interested in reserving one of these facilities for an event.

Nashville Bark Park

Dogs are invited to play at the Nashville Bark Park in Nashville, NC. This off-leash facility has a water station, dog agility equipment, a pet waste station and a picnic table. Dog owners are reminded to clean up any mess left behind. This area is located right off exit 459 from Hwy 64 for your convenience.
