Recreation Programs

The Nashville Parks & Recreation Department regularly offers “special programs” throughout the year.  We also co-host events with other groups and non-profits so contact us with your ideas.

 

Here are the programs currently offered annually:

Pickle Ball: Every Thursday morning from 8 am to 11 am at Stoney Creek Environmental Park. Call the Recreation Department for paddles and balls.

Easter Egg Hunt:  Scheduled around Easter Holiday

Outdoor Movie Series: Dates and times TBA in spring

Open Gym:  During Summer and Winter Months

Summer Camps:  Baseball, Girls Softball, Basketball, Football, Soccer, & Cheerleading during Summer Months

Summer Jam:  Foul and 3-Point Shooting Contests in August

Halloween at Glover Park: Haunted Walking Trail and a Outdoor Movie

Self Guided Historic Nashville Buildings & Homes Walking Tour

The areas along the Washington and Church Streets offer some of the oldest structures within Nashville today.  The two page self guided walking tour brochure can be accessed above providing information about various buildings and homes dating back to the late 19th and turn of the 20th Century.

Healthy Choice Initiative
The Town of Nashville Parks & Recreation Department and Down East Partnership for Children has partnered with the following stores below to increase healthy food options at their locations.  This is part of the “Healthy Kids Collaborative” effort to develop healthy eating and physical acitivity habits for children of Nash and Edgecombe.
