White Goods Policy
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TOWN OF NASHVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 13. SOLID WASTES AND WEEDS ARTICLE III. SCRAP MATERIALS SECTION 13-48. DISPOSAL OF WHITE GOODS
WHEREAS, The Town of Nashville has an adopted Municipal Code containing regulations pertaining to solid wastes; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 13, Article III relates to scrap materials.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Nashville that the Town of Nashville Code of Ordinances Chapter 13, Article III, shall be amended as follows:
(ADD): �Sec. 13-48. Disposal of White Goods.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any resident or property owner of the Town of Nashville to leave or allow to be left on the streets or right-of-ways of the Town of Nashville, any white good for a period longer than seven (7) days after being notified by the Town to remove it or have it removed. It shall be the primary responsibility of the resident to comply with this section, and the property owner shall bear secondary responsibility.
(b) Violation of this section shall result in the Town collecting the item after the seven-day period and charging the resident or property owner a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) for this service. If the fee is not paid within thirty (30) days, the Town will pursue collection procedures through the court system of the State of North Carolina.
(c) For the purpose of this section, white goods shall be defined as stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers, water heaters, trash compactors, etc.
