Operation WATCHDOG, the Nashville Police Department's newest tool to fight crime, kicked off on March 15th. The program is designed to promote the citizen/officer relationship, increase crime prevention awareness, help solve previous crimes, and strengthen the community.

Officers will be making contact with the residents and business persons in their assigned areas, soliciting information about crime trends, problems in the community, and other issues. They will also be creating new relationships in the community and assisting with the Zone's Community Safety Meetings. These meetings will offer the citizens an oppertunity to join together and voice their concerns, hear from the officers that are protecting the streets, and learn about crime prevention and tips to protect theirselves and their homes.
