The Public is hereby notified of a Special Called Meeting  of the Nashville Town Council on Friday, October 25, 2019 at  1:00 PM in the Town Council Chambers, 114 W. Church Street, Nashville, NC.   This meeting will be held for the purpose of the consideration of amending the Town Council Meeting Schedule for November 5, 2019.   The Public is encouraged to attend.

The Town of Nashville owns approximately 28 miles of streets and 15 miles of sidewalk.  The maintenance of these streets and sidewalks are performed by the Public Works Department.  This task is only possible through cooperation of many devoted employees and you the public.  Please let us know if there are any potholes, drainage issues, or other matters that need attention by calling 252-459-4511 and placing a "work order" for the desired work.  Our resurfacing plan  is based on a schedule and attempts to maintain large sections of town on a revolving timeline.  The Town of Nashville is also proud to have the capability to "recycle" old asphalt to fill in undesired potholes.  This equipment was purchased in 2016 and uses old asphalt that is collected when water & sewer repairs must be made under a street.  This not only saves the town money, but it is also environmentally responsible by reducing the amount of space in the local landfill.
