Henry “Hank” Raper has been the Town Manager of Nashville, North Carolina since October 2015. He previously served as the Assistant to the Town Manager in Apex, North Carolina from 2014-2015. Mr. Raper was a Management Intern for the Town of Pittsboro, North Carolina and Erwin, North Carolina in 2013 and 2011, respectively.
Mr. Raper graduated in May 2015 with a Juris Doctor degree from the Campbell University School of Law in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar after passing the state bar examination in July 2015. As a student, Raper was awarded two book awards for the highest grades in his law school class in the subjects of Real Property Planning and Twentieth Century Legal Thought. Raper is also a 2013 graduate of North Carolina State University where he obtained a Master of Public Administration. Raper holds two undergraduate degrees from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011. These degrees include a Bachelor of Arts in Government with a concentration in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Social Science History.
Raper has also graduated from the Municipal and County Administration and Leading for Results Courses at the UNC School of Government and is a Certified Zoning Official (CZO) through the North Carolina Association of Zoning Officials.
Raper is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the International City/County Management Association, the North Carolina City and County Management Association, and serves on the professional development committee of the latter.
