The Nashville Fire Department serves the citizens of the Town of Nashville and the Newton S. Gulley Fire District.  The Nashville Fire Department is a municipal fire department governed and operated by the Town which utilizes a council-manager form of government.  The department provides Fire, EMS, and Specialty Rescue services to the citizens of Nashville and the Newton S. Gulley Fire Districts.  The Nashville Fire Department responds to approximately 1100 Fire and EMS calls annually.  Fire Chief, Tim Pope, manages a department of thirty-six personnel consisting of nine career staff personnel and twenty-seven volunteer members.  The department holds a Class 4 Public Protection Classification Rating from the NC Department of Insurance in both the Town of Nashville and the Newton S. Gulley Fire Districts.
