The Nashville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department offers a wide variety of annual events that relate to active and passive recreation, cultural, and special events. These range from seasonal athletic leagues to unique events to community outreach. Nash Arts is a private, nonprofit organization, which celebrates, promotes and produces artists and arts activities, provides support to other area arts organizations and encourages and generates arts education in order to enhance the quality of life in Nash County. Our organization showcases local, regional and national artists, professional and emerging, as well as self-taught artists and craftsmen. Our goal is to reach out to all members of our community.
Popular annual events that attract visitors throughout the region include the adapted version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the Haunted by the Arts Ghost Walk, Monthly Concert Series, the Visual Arts Series, Classes and Workshops for children and adults, Dancing with the Arts, Nash County’s Got Talent, and Denim & Diamonds Gala. Annual Nashville Blooming Festival
The Famous Nashville Blooming Festival has been held annually in Downtown Nashville over Mother’s Day Weekend for approximately two decades. This annual event hosted by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce attracts visitors from near and far to enjoy the “Mother of Year” award, carnival, a parade, activities for all ages, numerous vendors, and both national and local bands performing throughout the festival. The Nashville Harold D. Cooley Library offers many services and regularly scheduled events for patrons of all all ages. These include Monday Story Time for children, seasonal festival and crafts activities for children and adults, reading programs and many adult programs. The mission of the Harold D. Cooley Library is to provide materials and programs for the enrichment of our community by meeting their educational, cultural, recreational, and research needs. We serve as a clearinghouse of information for our community as well as using that information and technology to bridge the digital divide.
