Historic Preservation and Tax Credits Program

The Town of Nashville Planning Department and The Nashville Chamber of Commerce are partnering to host a seminar on historic preservation and tax credits. The North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office, Department of Natural and Cultural Resources Office of Archives and History will discuss the North Carolina State Historic Rehabilitation Tax Program.  The program encourages the conservation of North Carolina's historic resources. The State Historic Preservation Office will discuss the potential to receive a 15% state tax credit for qualified rehabilitation of owner-occupied residential properties.  The State Historic Preservation Office will also discuss historic preservation tax incentives for income-producing properties; owners and developers may potentially receive a 20% federal income tax credit and a 15-25% state income tax credit for certified rehabilitation  of income-producing historic structures.  The  seminar will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in Town Council Chambers, 114 West Church Street, Nashville.    For additional information please call 252-459-4050.
